3 Common Home Inspection Concerns

You’re in the market for a new home in Virginia. Maybe you’ve been searching for months to find just the right property, and you think you’ve finally found it. You’re anxious to finalize the purchase and start your life in your new home. However, you want to make sure the property passes the home inspection.

We at Burgess Inspections, Inc. understand the anxiety that the home inspection causes many buyers. Let us address three common concerns we get to help you put some of your anxiety to rest.

1. Do I really need a home inspection?

You consider yourself a pretty handy person. You’ve tackled your fair share of DIY home projects, and the house seems sturdy to you. Do you really need a home inspection? The answer is always yes. Many lenders require a home inspection for you to receive a home loan. Plus, our certified inspectors can check in the nooks and crannies you may not have access to during the walk-through. Even if you think waiving a home inspection will increase your chances of securing the property, we always recommend that you get the home inspection to protect yourself and your investment.

2. How soon will I get the inspection report?

We understand you’re anxious to know what the inspector finds so you can start finalizing your real estate decisions. Burgess Inspections, Inc. wants to make sure you get a thorough inspection and a detailed report in a timely manner. We work hard to make sure the inspection report is finalized within one business day of the inspection.

3. What if the inspector misses something?

You breathe a sigh of relief when you get the inspection report back with no major concerns or repairs. However, in the back of your mind, you’re worried about whether the inspector missed something. Breathe easy. Our inspection team has years of combined experience and knowledge. During an inspection, we spend the most time making sure big problems (that could cost you big $$) don’t exist in the home. We also keep our eyes open for smaller concerns and will note them if we see them, but smaller issues are usually not the priority when it comes to the home inspection.
